Pride St. Louis
The Project
EightOne Creative worked with Pride St. Louis to create a new logo for their annual Pride Idol karaoke competition. The competition is set up similar to American Idol, where participants compete for a chance to perform on the main stage at St. Louis Pride Fest, among other prizes.

I worked to create a logo that visually captures the energy, inclusivity and excitement of PrideSTL’s signature karaoke competition. At the center of the design is a realistic microphone—an instantly recognizable symbol of performance and self-expression—anchoring the event in the spirit of bold, unapologetic fun.

The microphone is framed by a dynamic, tilted square outlined in a vibrant rainbow gradient, representing both the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community and the celebratory nature of Pride. The skewed frame adds a sense of movement and energy, reinforcing the idea of stepping into the spotlight and taking center stage.

The bold, uppercase typography conveys confidence and approachability, while the placement of “PRIDE” and “IDOL” across the mic visually integrates the name with the central icon, uniting all elements in one cohesive mark. The tagline, “A PrideSTL Karaoke Competition,” grounds the concept with clarity and professionalism.

Overall, this logo balances fun and formality, making it ideal for both print and digital use while reinforcing the Pride brand through color, theme, and tone.
